Donna Miller, PT, DPT, OCS, CSCS

Owner/ Doctor of Physical Therapy/ Orthopedic Certified Specialist/ Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist

Dr. Donna Miller graduated Summa Cum Laude with her Masters of Physical Therapy from Stony Brook University. She was Valedictorian of her graduating class and received the award for General Excellence in Physical Therapy and the Graduate Honor Award. She earned her Post-Professional Clinical Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Stony Brook University. Her doctoral work has been presented at the National Physical Therapy Conference and was published in the Journal of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) in the spring of 2006. As a multi-specialty therapist, she has taken extensive course work focusing on pediatrics and orthopedics. She is recognized by the (APTA) as a Credentialed Clinical Instructor, and is presently taking classes to become a Certified Functional Manual Therapist. In 2007, Donna received her Advanced Certification as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). In 2011 she was awarded the distinction of Board-Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties and the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA).

Donna believes in communication at all levels regarding patient care, and utilizes this ideology in her daily practice. Specializing in pediatric and orthopedic physical therapy, Donna brings a unique blend of manual and biomechanical emphasis to her patient care. She has treated a wide variety of general orthopedic and sports related problems, and has worked with patient populations including pediatrics, athletes and geriatrics. Donna enjoys lecturing for colleges, elementary schools and various organizations on Body Mechanics, Ergonomics, Pediatric Summer Safety, Scoliosis, and the benefit of physical therapy in the treatment of Autism.

Colleen Thomas, PT, MS

Manual Physical Therapist / Master of Physical Therapy

Colleen enjoys working with a variety of people of different ages and abilities to assist them in getting back to the things they love to do. Colleen’s approach to treatment includes a heavy emphasis on manual therapy, including soft tissue and joint mobilization, PNF techniques and therapeutic exercises. Her continuing education focuses on courses specific to manual therapy in an orthopedic setting.

Alex Pisanello, PT, DPT, FRCmc

Doctor of Physical Therapy

Dr. Alexander Pisanello served on active duty in the United States Navy as a combat veteran. After his successful completion of his undergraduate degree in biochemistry with honors, Alex was awarded a full scholarship from the Department of Veterans Affairs to complete his Doctorate in Physical Therapy. During his military service, Alex sustained several permanent injuries. Physical therapy played an integral role in the treatment and management of his symptoms and in improving his quality of life. His strong desire to help others heal motivates his practice as a Physical Therapist.

Alex graduated with honors with his Doctor of Physical Therapy from Stony Brook University. He was the only member of his graduating class to be inducted into the SALUTE National Honor Society for academic excellence. He was featured in the Summer 2020 Stony Brook School of Health Technology and Management by Dean Stacy Gropack for taking the initiative to volunteer and tutor physical therapy students who had a difficult time with their coursework during the COVID-19 pandemic. He has a stellar track record of helping students who struggle in their clinical affiliations to become autonomous, exemplary health care practitioners. Alex has over 8 years of experience tutoring students in undergraduate level science and mathematics including physics, chemistry, biology, organic chemistry and calculus. Alex is currently an independent contractor serving physical therapists nationwide as an instructor and content designer teaching physical therapists on a variety of topics to prepare them for the licensing examination. He is well versed in working with the pediatric, neurologic and orthopedic patient population. Alex assisted one of his mentors Dr. Gary Welch in the development of Orthopedic Manual Therapy Peripheral Joint Mobilizations and Manipulations a manual therapy guide for orthopedic physical therapy residents at Touro College. He recently achieved his Functional Range Conditioning Mobility Specialist certification and is presently taking classes to become a Certified Functional Manual Therapist and Starting Strength coach. Alex specializes in strength training for older adults. However, he enjoys working with people of all ages to achieve their health and fitness goals.
